About Us
The Cumberland County Animal Control Office enforces all state and local laws
pertaining to the ownership, regulation and control of dogs, cats, and other
animals within the County. The department is responsible for picking up stray
animals, livestock, exotic animals as well as nuisance wildlife and rabid
animals. Animal Control officers respond to calls all over the County, check for
compliance with rabies vaccination laws, as well as dog and cat license
mandates.
The Department also investigates all animal bites as mandated by
North Carolina law. If you are attacked or bitten by an animal, call
Animal Control at 910-321-6852 to report it and try to locate the owner
of the animal, if possible. Then seek medical attention if the skin has been broken.
During normal duty hours, please call: 910-321-6852.
However, to ONLY report animal bites or injured animals after
normal duty hours, then please call 910-323-1500.
