The Cumberland County Coliseum Complex exists to improve the County's image by providing a landmark quality entertainment venue for the County's residents. It not only hosts high
profile and other entertainment events, but also
creates economic benefits for the County by hosting events that increase the flow of out-of-town visitors.
The Crown Coliseum, the newest
addition to the Cumberland County Coliseum Complex, attracts hundreds of thousands each year to its new 10,880 seat facility for concerts, plays and other events. The coliseum was among 29 sites in the U.S. and Canada chosen by Facilities Magazine for the prestigious Prime Site Award for 1998. The coliseum is also home to the SHPL hockey team, The Fayetteville FireAntz
and the Arena Indoor Football (AIF) team, the Cape Fear Heroes.
