A negative is not required to end isolation after 5 days. If an individual has access to a test and wants to test, the best approach is to use an antigen test towards the end of the 5-day isolation period. If your test result is positive, you should continue to isolate until day 10. Test kits may not be used to end isolation early if you have tested positive for COVID-19.

There is one type of at home test kits available, while supplies last.
COVID-19 rapid antigen tests work to detect proteins that are specific to the virus that causes COVID-19 and do not typically need to be sent to a lab to be analyzed. Negative antigen results should be treated as presumptive. Negative results do not rule out SARS-CoV-2 infection and should not be used as the sole basis for infection control decisions. To improve results, antigen tests should be used twice over a three-day period with at least 24 hours and no more than 48 hours between tests.
