Employee Benefits

We take pride in our work and our employees.  We strive to help you and your family by offering a comprehensive benefits package.  Cumberland County offers medical, dental and vision plans as well as employer paid Basic Life and AD&D for eligible employees.  We also include options for Voluntary Life, Voluntary Short-Term and Long-Term disability, Critical Illness and Permanent Life policies.  These policies can assist you by providing some income replacement as part of your plan for financial wellness.  Additionally the Cumberland FSA plan gives you a resource to save money by deferring dollars on a pre-tax basis to help pay for qualified health expenses. 

Our benefit package is further enhanced, as the County provides paid leave to include sick, annual, military, and school participation and a 1 percent employer matching contribution to the NC 401K plan.  In the interest and well-being of our employees, Cumberland County also provides an onsite Wellness Center Clinic for diagnoses and treatment of common illnesses.  The Cumberland County Wellness Center Clinic offers Lifestyle classes and sports, as well as health coaching.  Understanding your time is valuable, Cumberland County offers an onsite pharmacy, where employees covered under our health plan have access to preventative or Tier 1 prescriptions at no cost as well as other lower priced prescriptions.  Please refer to the Benefits Guidebook for details.
