Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP)

What is Eligible for BCCCP?

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program is a screening program designed to reduce death and disability among women caused by breast and cervical cancer. Public awareness, education, early diagnosis and treatment are key elements in reducing the effects caused by breast and cervical cancer.

This program focuses on low-income women 40-64 years of age. Women enrolled in the program receive a pap smear and mammogram screening, and the necessary follow-up on any abnormal results.

BCCCP eligible women may also be eligible for NC WISEWOMAN, which provides cardiovascular disease screening, and helps women to improve their diet, physical activity, and other life habits to prevent, delay, or control cardiovascular and other chronic diseases.
