Soil and Water Conservation District Tree Seedling Sale

FAYETTEVILLE – The Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking pre-paid orders for the annual tree seedling sale through Oct. 31. Order forms can be downloaded from the Cumberland Soil and Water Conservation website at http://www.co.cumberland.nc.us/soil_water/ by clicking under the “Events” tab.

Three evergreen tree species native to North Carolina are available: Longleaf Pine, Loblolly Pine and Eastern Red Cedar.
• Longleaf Pine: $5 per bundle of 15 seedlings
• Loblolly Pine: $5 per bundle of 20 seedlings
• Eastern Red Cedar: $5 per bundle of 5 seedlings.

Trees help prevent erosion of topsoil, beautify property, provide energy-saving shade and provide habitat for birds and other wildlife. Anyone interested in ordering seedlings must complete the order form and return it with payment by Oct. 31.
