Sep 04, 2018

Due to the effects Hurricane Florence will have on our community in the upcoming days/weeks, this event has been postponed to allow for recovery efforts. A new date is to be determined.

The Cumberland County Public Health Department will host a “Fun in the Sun with Public Health” event Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Health Center parking lot located at 1235 Ramsey Street.

The event will bring together Health Department clinics, County departments and community organizations to share information about health, safety and wellness with community members.

“This is an opportunity to bring our community together to learn about the Health Department as well as other community organizations in a fun, family-oriented way,” said Duane Holder, Interim Health Director. “We hope to make this a yearly event that will have a positive impact on our residents.”

This free, family-friendly event will feature booths, displays, demonstrations and giveaways. Free balloon animals, face painting, popcorn and snow cones will also be available while supplies last. Food will be available for purchase from food truck vendors.

Participating organizations include Cumberland County Emergency Services, Department of Social Services, Public Library and Cooperative Extension as well as Fayetteville Police and Fire departments, Fayetteville Public Works Commission, Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation and Fort Bragg Public Health and more.
