Mar 08, 2019

The 20th annual Cumberland County Department of Social Services March to Work Job Fair is March 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crown Expo Center, 1960 Coliseum Dr.

Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet employers, hand out their resumes and apply for jobs. They are advised to dress professionally; bring plenty of resumes; and be prepared for short, on-the-spot interviews with potential employers.

About 100 employers representing a variety of industries will be at the job fair including business/professional, child care, education, customer service, government, distribution, food service, health care, retail and more. All job seekers, regardless of their skill set, are invited to attend the free event.

“The March to Work Job Fair is a great opportunity for job seekers and employers to come together under one roof,” said Toni Wright-Harris Job Fair Coordinator. “Last year at least 10 people were hired on the spot during the job fair.”

The Internet Job Café hosted by the Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center will be available for job seekers to submit online job applications during the event. The Cumberland County NCWorks Career Center will also provide staff and services to help job seekers with resume review, NCWorks registration, veterans services and career training services and information.

The City of Fayetteville Transportation Department and B & W Transportation will provide free van transportation to and from the job fair about every 15 to 20 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. City vans will pick up from the FAST Transit Center and B & W Transportation vans will pick up from DSS and the NCWorks Career Center.  The last trip from the Crown Expo for all vans will depart at 2:30 p.m.
