Cumberland County Public Library Cancels Programs and Outreach

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, all programs, outreach and volunteer services at all eight branches of the Cumberland County Public Library are canceled effective immediately until further notice. There are currently no presumptive or confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Cumberland County.

In addition to program cancelations, meeting rooms also not available for groups.

The branches will remain open to check out materials, offer information and provide computers for use. Library patrons are also reminded of the eResources available at 

All residents are encouraged to increase prevention measures and practice limited contact with others:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water, and for at least 20 seconds each time.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Do not reuse tissue after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched (like your phone, tablet, countertops and daily work surfaces).
  • Stay home and away from others when you are sick.
  • Use fist bumps or elbows instead of shaking hands or hugs.

In addition, the County has opened a general Cumberland Information Line at 910-678-7657 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays to handle calls regarding County services.
