When You Can't Afford Your Medicine...
Welcome to the Cumberland County Medication Access Program (CCMAP). This program was established to help people of all ages with chronic medical conditions who need regular prescription medications but lack adequate income for purchasing them. CCMAP is not a program to fill emergency medication needs.

CCMAP is able to provide medications through samples, purchased medicines and several drug manufacturers' patient assistance programs. The majority of these programs provide prescription medications free-of-charge to individuals in need, regardless of age, if they meet the sponsor's criteria. CCMAP can help people apply for one or more of the patient assistance programs. This process is accomplished with the cooperation of the patient's physician.
Some basic requirements for an applicant to be enrolled in CCMAP are:
- The applicant is on a stabilized dosage of medications.
- The applicant does not have insurance coverage for outpatient prescription drugs.
- The applicant does not qualify for a government or third-party program, such as Medicaid, that provides for prescription medications.
- The applicant's income is at a level that causes hardship for the patient to purchase medication at retail pharmacies. To be accepted into a patient assistance program, the applicant's income must fall within the limits established by the drug manufacturer. The household income limit requirement varies with each manufacturer. Decisions concerning which medications are provided free-of-charge and which individuals are accepted into the programs are made using the various drug manufacturers' regulations. Generally, participants' income must be within 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
