The Cumberland County Citizens’ Academy helps participants gain a better understanding of what county government does and
how the various departments play a vital role in the community.
Participants must be residents of Cumberland County. Class size is limited, and academy slots are filled on a first-come,
first-serve basis. Residents are encouraged to apply promptly. Participants are asked to commit to attending all six classes.
The Citizens’ Academy is part of the County’s strategic goal to educate, inform and engage employees, citizens, elected and
appointed officials through effective and efficient communications.

Citizens’ Academy 2017 Class Schedule
The 2017 Citizens’ Academy will run March 7 – April 11 for six consecutive Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m. at various county
government locations. The session schedules will be posted at a later date.
