The Cumberland County Register of Deeds Office serves as a custodian and manager of large numbers of public records. It also serves as an enforcer of laws governing the care and maintenance of those records plus access to such records. The Vital Records division of the Register of Deeds Office handles marriage, birth and death certificates and is located on the lower level of the Courthouse.
