Occupational Skills Training
Instruction conducted at the community college and other approved training providers designed to provide individuals with technical skills required to perform a job in identified skill demand occupations.
On-the-Job Training
Occupational skills training provided through the public or private sector for an eligible person who has been hired by the employer. The employer pays the wages and is entitled to reimbursement up to 50% of wages paid during the training period.
Summer Youth Employment and Training Program
A youth program that operates during the summer months and provides eligible youth, ages 14-21, with six to eight weeks of employment. It is designed to provide them with the opportunity to work and receive needed financial assistance. Youth work at public or non-profit organizations to gain experience and good work habits.
Title V. Senior Aides Program
Provides socially useful part-time employment for low income elderly, age 55 and older. It is designed to improve and expand existing community services and create new services where needed.
When applying, documentation is needed to verify the following:
- Date and place of birth (Birth Certificate)
- Social Security Number (Social Security Card)
- Current Address (Driver's License or NC ID Card)
- Family Income (check stubs)
