Aug 16, 2018

The Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking pre-paid orders for its annual tree seedling sale. To place an order, go to co.cumberland.nc.us/soil-water and click on the “Tree Seedling Sale” tab on the webpage.

The tree species available are the Longleaf Pine, Loblolly Pine and Eastern Red Cedar. These are evergreen trees native to North Carolina. Seedling prices are as follows:

  • Longleaf Pine: $5 per bundle of 15 seedlings
  • Loblolly Pine: $5 per bundle of 20 seedlings
  • Eastern Red Cedar: $5 per bundle of 5 seedlings.

Trees help prevent erosion of topsoil, beautify property, provide energy-saving shade and provide habitat for birds and other wildlife. Anyone interested in ordering seedlings must complete the order form and return it with payment to the Cumberland Soil and Water Conservation District by Oct. 31.

Please make checks payable to:            Cumberland SWCD

Mail to:                                                301 East Mountain Drive, Suite 229

Fayetteville, NC 28306

Tree Seedlings will arrive the second week of December fresh from the farm. Proceeds from the annual tree seedling sale are used to fund youth educational projects such as the annual Resource Conservation Workshop, Envirothon and Land Judging.
