Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Spring Symposium March 23

Feb 12, 2019

Fayetteville – The Cumberland County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association will proudly present the annual Spring Symposium at the Ramada Plaza on Saturday, March 23. The symposium will be held in the Bordeaux Center located within the Ramada Plaza, located at 1707 Owen Dr., Fayetteville, N.C. 28304. The keynote speaker will be Tony Avent: the Indiana Jones of horticulture, curator, breeder, columnist, and creator of Plant Delights Nursery and Juniper Level Botanic Gardens located in Raleigh. Joining Avent will be Carol Reese, a nationally known speaker, columnist, and an Extension Horticulture specialist at the University of Tennessee who blends gardening with her own quirky humor. A three course lunch is included in the ticket price. A Live Plant Auction will conclude the symposium with Avent as the auctioneer. Garden related vendors and special garden interest groups will be available for participants to browse, gather information and make purchases between sessions and at lunch. The purpose of the symposium is to carry out the Cumberland County Extension Master Gardeners Volunteer Association's mission: to educate the residents of Cumberland County in NC State approved horticulture practices based on unbiased, research-based information for their own gardens, lawns and landscapes. Registration and symposium information can be found by going to https://www.eventbrite.com.
