One-Stop Early Voting for March Primary Election NOW OPEN

One-Stop early voting for the March 3 primary election begins Feb. 13 and ends Feb. 29 at seven locations in Cumberland County: the Board of Elections office, Cliffdale Recreation Center, North Regional Branch Library, Hope Mills Recreation Center, East Regional Branch Library, J.D. Pone Recreation Center and Smith Recreation Center.

 

Early voting times for the Board of Elections office located in the E. Newton Smith Center at 227 Fountainhead Lane are:

  • Thursday and Friday, Feb. 13-14

    8 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Monday thru Friday, Feb. 17-21
    8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Monday thru Friday, Feb. 24- 28
    8 a.m. -5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 29
    8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

One-Stop voting at the other six locations are:

  • Thursday and Friday, Feb. 13- 14
    8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 15
    8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 16
    2 - 5 p.m.
  • Monday thru Friday, Feb. 17 - 21

Citizens may register and vote at any One-Stop early voting locations. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 910-678-7733 or go to electionready.net for more information.

 

Voters will NOT be required to show photo ID for the March 3, 2020 primary election. In a Dec.31 order, a federal district court blocked North Carolina’s voter photo ID requirement from taking effect. The injunction will remain in place until further order of the court.

 

Voters who wish to vote on March 3 must report to their precinct. Polls for all precincts will open at 6:30 a.m. March 3 and close at 7:30 p.m.

Other important dates:

  • Primary voter registration deadline (to vote on Primary Election Day): Feb. 7
  • Absentee ballot request deadline: Feb. 25
  • Primary Election Day: March 3
  • Absentee ballot return deadline: Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by March 3 and received no later than March 6; if returned in person no later than March 3 at 5 p.m.

The March primary is for various federal, state and local offices including president, governor, N.C. State House Districts 43, 44 and 45, Judicial District 12 and two Cumberland County Board of Commissioners seats. Go to ncsbe.gov to see a full list of elected offices in Cumberland County.
