County Seeks Consultant for Homelessness Strategic Plan

Cumberland County Community Development is seeking a consultant to develop a three-year strategic plan to address homelessness. 

The Request for Proposals calls for a consultant to analyze the provision of the homeless services delivery system in Cumberland County and to develop a three-year actionable homelessness strategic plan. Duties include identifying gaps and duplications across programs and services and recommending improvements to the community’s homeless service delivery system.

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Feb. 19 to the Cumberland County Community Development office at 707 Executive Place, Fayetteville. Late proposals will not be accepted.

The Board of Commissioners approved the issuance of an RFP for homeless consulting services as part of the adoption of the Three-Year Homelessness Strategic Plan at the Jan. 19 regular board meeting.

“Health and Human Services are part of our core mission as a County government, and it is important for our future that we develop a plan for how we will address the needs of our homeless population,” said Chairman Charles Evans.

Community Development is a department of Cumberland County Government that administers entitlement funding received through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
