Summer Reading Club Winners Recognized

Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center (CCPL&IC) awarded the Teen Read Summer Reading Club 2000 Grand Prize Winner, Luxsana Iamsakuldacha, with a Sony Dualshock Playstation on Friday, August 11 at 11:00 am. The presentation was made at the Headquarters Library's 2nd floor Teen Space. The grand prize, which includes two Playstation games and a memory card, was donated by Toys R Us of Fayetteville.

Summer Splash, CCPL&IC's Adult Summer Reading Club, awarded the following prizes:

  1. Grand Prize Winner, Russel Singer-$40.00 gift certificate from Chris's Steakhouse and basket of goodies;
  2. First Place Winner, Norma Capper-dinner for two at Cracker Barrell;
  3. Second Place Winner, Pam Bloyd-tickets for two to Cape Fear Regional Theater's first production of the 2000/2001 season.

Each year CCPL&IC sponsors Summer Reading Clubs for children, teens, and adults. These clubs encourage reading during vacations from both school and work.
