N.A.P.W.D.A.
2000 National Workshop

Cumberland County, NC; Members of the North American Police Work Dog Association (N.A.P.W.D.A.), which consists of K-9 law enforcement teams, will hold their 2000 National Workshop here in Cumberland County June 18th through the 23rd. This is the first time in 10 years that the conference will be held in the south.

Over 200 teams are registered to attend this workshop. Federal agencies, such as U.S. Customs, U.S. Park Police, U.S. Border Patrol and the F.B.I. as well as teams from large cities throughout the U.S. (including Tampa, Pittsburgh, Reno, West Chicago, and El Paso, just to name a few) are scheduled to attend. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police K-9 Unit will also be in attendance.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend a free demonstration on the 21st of June from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Cape Fear High School Football Field, which is located at 4000 Clinton Road.
