Newborn Baby Found
at the Health Department
A newborn baby was found by an employee at the Cumberland County Health Department, Monday morning around 8:00 a.m. The baby was left in a plastic bag at the front entrance wrapped in a blanket. It has not yet been determined, but the baby is thought to be no more than a few hours old. The baby was taken to Cape Fear Valley Health Systems for an examination. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene. An investigation is underway.
