Cumberland County
Makes Property Tax Information
Accessible Via Internet

The wait in line at the Cumberland County Tax Office for property records or tax payment information has just gotten shorter. Tax Administrator Garrett Alexander has announced that tax information can now be obtained over the Internet from the county's web site.

"By providing tax information through the county's web site we are continuing our commitment to provide greater service to the community," Alexander said. "Many people depend on the property and tax payment records for their business enterprise. Attorneys, paralegals, real estate developers, and many other business professionals use these records daily. Making the data accessible to them in their own offices has many positive and profitable outcomes."

But access is not limited to businesses. Anyone with a computer and a modem can now retrieve their property information without leaving their own home. Alexander added, "These services represent a savings to Tax Administration by reducing the time and effort which is now expended in providing the information for the public. Those efforts can now be redirected to increasing property discovery and tax collection."

Alexander commended the county's Information Services staff for developing this important resource. This project not only provides the most accurate information available, but it also will make the information more accessible and easier to use.

Individuals wanting tax information can visit the county's web-site at 'www.co.cumberland.nc.us' to obtain the records. After reaching the site, select "Departments" for a list of the county departments, scroll through the list to "Tax Administration" and select the page.

At the bottom of the page you will find the reference for the tax records. If you would like to go directly to the tax information pages without visiting the county's homepage, go to "mainfr.co.cumberland.nc.us/taxinfo.htm". Do not use "www." in front of this address.
