Library Recognizes Exceptional Employees

Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center Director, Jerry Thrasher, awarded ten staff members with an Exceptional Employee Award at Staff Training Day on Friday, December 15. The award was presented to those individuals who demonstrated exceptional professionalism, loyalty and commitment to the operation of the Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center.

To have been considered for the award, the employee had to be nominated by a supervisor. Employees who received the award in May 2000 were not eligible. A committee composed of library staff members evaluated the nominees in five categories: quality of work, quantity of work, customer service (public and staff), initiative and application of time, and other criteria.

Of those nominated system wide, ten CCPL&IC employees were selected who displayed qualities that were considered exceptional and should be used as a model by the entire staff. The recipients are Nora Armstrong, Sabrina Benitez, Robin Clark, Janice Corker, Penelope Hamblin, Stephanie Moore–Mitchell, Lois Mouw, Ann Pechacek, Joseph Widere, and Susan Williams.
