Meningitis Update

The Cumberland County Health Department has received a number of phone calls from local citizens concerning exposure to bacterial meningitis. Many of these citizens were people who had eaten at the Waffle House Restaurant. We need your help in reassuring the public that there is minimal risk of exposure through this type of casual contact with the individual involved. To date, the Cumberland County Health Department has administered prophylactic medication to 18 individuals that may have had close contact with the 19 y/o male, diagnosed with meningitis.
