For Immediate Release September 20, 2001
The Chairman of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners, Lee Warren joins Fayetteville Mayor Milo McBryde and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce in inviting our local citizens to participate in a Community Prayer Service scheduled for Monday, September 24, 2001 at 12 noon at Cross Creek Veteran's Park on Green Street (across from the Systel Office Building). The service, which will involve ministers representing a diverse group of faiths, will help unite our community as it also pays tribute to the many who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attacks in the U.S. In addition to the sharing of prayers and scriptures, the Community Prayer Service in some ways will be considered a celebration of patriotism. Patriotic songs will be performed and patriotic memorabilia will be dispersed. If there has ever been a time for prayer, unity and pride, it is now.
