A local mother/daughter book club held a fundraiser for the library mid-August. Members of the club, including two 5 year olds, one 4 year old, and one 3 year old, with the help of their parents, set up a lemonade stand in their neighborhood to raise money in light of the effects of reduced library hours. Neighbors, family, and passersby could purchase a Dixie cup size for 25 cents or a large cup for 50 cents.
Members of this book club and their parents presented the money raised at the lemonade stand ($27.00) to library officials on Friday, September 28 at 3:00 pm in the Children's Department of the Headquarters Library. |
