127 New Cases, Governor Extends Phase Two

Aug 07, 2020

The Department of Public Health reports 127 new COVID-19 cases and one additional death since the Monday morning report. Cumberland County's case count is now 3,102 with 51 deaths.

The Cumberland resident who died was in their 70s with underlying health conditions.

“Cumberland County remains above the recommended rate of 5% positive cases. We are at 10% of tests coming back positive,” said Health Director Dr. Jennifer Green. “We cannot relax until this trend shows a downward trajectory or a sustained leveling off. We know simple steps can achieve this. Wear your mask, wait 6 feet and wash your hands.”

Testing continues
The Health Department will continue the semiweekly drive-thru test collection on Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Manna Church (5117 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville) and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Southview Baptist Church (4089 Elk Road, Hope Mills, NC).
