Household User Fee

The annual Household User Fee supports residential disposal services for Cumberland County homeowners.

• $130 per year, billed on the property tax bill.
• Covers disposal of kitchen and bathroom household garbage, yard waste (within County guidelines), and household hazardous waste (up to 10 gallons or 80 pounds per visit).
• Residents may dispose of up to 4 cubic yards per week of household garbage and yard waste at no charge, in accordance with County guidelines.

Ann Street Landfill – Disposal Fees

The Ann Street Landfill is Cumberland County’s permitted landfill facility for municipal solid waste (MSW), construction and demolition (C&D) debris, bulky items, inert material, and other chargeable waste types. The fees listed below apply to all commercial customers and to residential customers disposing of materials that are not covered by the Household User Fee.

• MSW: $46 per ton
• C&D: $46 per ton
• Bulky Waste: $10 per item (max $20 per pickup)
• Inert Debris (Clean): $18 per ton
• Inert Debris (Dirty): $46 per ton
• Shingles (Clean): $22 per ton
• Shingles (Mixed): $46 per ton

Flat Rate Fee

For cars, SUVs, minivans, and pickup trucks not pulling a trailer, the flat rate fee is $20.

Scrap Tire Disposal

• Eligible commercial businesses: No charge
• Homeowners: Up to 5 tires per year at no charge
• Tires with rims: $1 per tire
• All other tires not eligible for free disposal: $65 per ton

Wilkes Road Compost Facility – Disposal Fees

The Wilkes Road Compost Facility accepts yard waste, vegetative material, land-clearing debris, and clean wood that meet County guidelines. Fees listed below apply to all commercial customers and to residential customers disposing of materials not covered by the Household User Fee.

Yard Waste & Vegetative Material

• Land clearing debris with no soil, including grass, leaves, pine straw, brush, and similar vegetative material: $22.50 per ton

Clean Wood

• Clean pallets and clean tree logs only: $11.25 per ton

Mulch and Compost (Based on Availability)

• Pickup-truck load: $20 per load
• Large vehicle loads (dump trucks, similar): $60 per load

Additional Information

Fees are adopted by the Board of Commissioners and may change once per year.
