Per North Carolina General Statutes, all child support payments are paid to the North Carolina Child Support Centralized Collections Operation (NCCSCC). NCCSCC uses an automated system that efficiently collects, processes and tracks child support payments.

Recipients of some public assistance programs will not receive child support; those payments go to the state to reimburse any assistance received on the child(ren)’s behalf.

Non-Public Assistance clients may elect to receive payments by direct deposit to their checking or savings account or through the SMIONE NCKIDSCARD program.

Federal and State Law also requires the Child Support Agency to assess a non-refundable annual fee of $25 for Child Support services that are rendered on each case for Medicaid and Non-Public Assistance clients that receive services, and at least $500 child support has been distributed to the family within the fiscal year.
