Fines and Fees
On August 16, 2021, the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted for Cumberland County Public Library to be fee free for late, lost and/or damaged print and audiovisual items. More info can be found here. Fines and fees remain in effect for the following:
Playaway Devices | $1 per day, $25 maximum per item per transaction |
Hotspots | No late fees |
Library of Things Kits | $0.10 per day, $25 maximum per item per transaction |
If any of these items are lost or returned damaged, a fee to cover the cost of replacing the item will be charged.
Collection of Long Overdue Items
When an item is overdue one day, the library attempts to notify you either through telephone or e-mail. A notice is sent on Day 14 and day 30.
When items are not returned within 42 days after the original due date, the account will be blocked until the item is returned or until the customer speaks with a library staff member
Cumberland County Public Library is committed to providing equitable access to materials and resources for our community members. We invite everyone to the library and emphasize the importance of returning all materials so that they can be shared by
all.
