The maps of the November 2026 Early Voting sites displaying electioneering buffer zones, where electioneering is not allowed can be found at 2026 EV POLLING PLACE BUFFER ZONES. Statutory 50’ buffer zones at the entrance to each voting site, as designated by G.S. 163-166.4(b) and G.S. 163-166.4(e), are marked with a red hash line. Any additional buffer zone at a particular site, such as where students require access to buses, is similarly marked.
Election officials will mark buffer zones with “No Campaigning Beyond This Point” signs. In addition to the no-electioneering buffer zones, candidates, campaigners, or any persons distributing campaign literature, should never impede access to or from the polling place, parking, or site entrances by campaigning on sidewalks. Paths of ingress and egress should remain clear at all times. Where needed, especially along narrow sidewalks, rope line may be used as a reminder to maintain clear walkways.
Campaigners are not to enter the buffer zone except for use of restroom facilities, business with another entity in a building jointly occupied, or for voting purposes. Please note public restroom facilities may not be available at all Early Voting sites.
While inside the buffer zone for one of the aforementioned reasons, campaigners should refrain from engaging in activities that violate or appear to violate campaigning guidelines. Campaigning issues or suspected violations are to be brought to the attention of the Chief Judge and the Board of Elections office.
