All real estate values are established and are effective on January 1 of the most recent revaluation year. Cumberland County completed its revaluation for of all real estate for the 2025 Tax Year.
Property owners can appeal their real estate values each year, however deadlines must be met for submission of appeals.
The deadline to submit an informal appeal for the 2026 tax year ended on May 20, 2026, with the adjournment of the Board of Equalization and Review.
Informal appeals for the 2027 tax year are now being accepted. To file an informal appeal please submit a Request for Review form and be sure to include any evidence to support your appeal.
Please be sure to provide your correct mailing address and include all requested contact information so that an appraiser can reach you to schedule an on-site review. The deadline to submit a 2027 informal appeal is February 5, 2027. Once the appeal is completed, a Decision letter providing the results of the review will be mailed in the April 2027 time frame.
Forms may be submitted by mail, email, or brought in person to Room 530 of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Courthouse at 117 Dick St., Fayetteville, or dropped in the secure drop box located beside the mailboxes in the back parking lot off Cool Spring & Russell Streets at the Courthouse.
