Disaster Preparedness Art Competition
Cumberland County Emergency Services (CCES) invites the county’s young artists to promote community readiness by participating in the 2025 National Preparedness Month art contest. The winning designs will be showcased in the Cumberland County Emergency Services building, with the winning artist’s information noted. All designs must focus on the importance of being prepared for disasters and emergencies.
This campaign serves as a reminder that preparing for emergencies and disasters can help keep individuals, families, and communities safe.
Who Can Enter
- Students in grades K-12
- Must live in or attend school in Cumberland County
- Two categories: Grades K-5 and Grades 6-12
- One entry per student
- Parent/guardian consent required
Art Requirements
- Must be created on canvas (any size)
- Free canvases available while supplies last at:
500 Executive Place, Fayetteville, NC
Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM (excluding holidays) - Art must include at least one preparedness or disaster-related theme
Deadline to Enter
All artwork must be dropped off by 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025
Voting & Prizes
- Two rounds of public voting
- Round 1: August 4 - August 25
- Round 2: August 27 - September 10
- Final winners selected by a CCES judging panel
- Prizes and public recognition for top entries
