Cumberland County Tax Administration is transitioning to a new tax software system. The new software system will allow increased access to information and be more user friendly. We expect minimal inconvenience during the transition; however, wait times in the office or on the phone may be longer than usual. Making payments as early as possible will assist in this transition. Thank you for your understanding as we move forward to serving you better.

Tax Administration is responsible for accurately mapping, listing, and appraising all taxable property within the jurisdiction of Cumberland County and its nine municipalities, fairly and equitably, according to the provisions of the North Carolina General Statutes.

OUR MISSION is to inform and assist our citizens with the tax listing, assessment and billing process; tax exclusions, exemptions and deferment programs; and the tax collection process, in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

Tax Administration maintains records necessary for the listing, appraisal, assessment, billing, and collection of taxes associated with all real and personal property.  The department also serves as the staff liaison to the Board of Equalization and Review.
