Assist individuals with criminal backgrounds of Cumberland County, NC who are reentering the society by providing supportive services and resources for smooth and successful transition into their communities. LRC convenes county/community leaders, service providers, justice involved individuals and others to develop strategies and deliver results in addressing barriers that justice involved individuals face when returning home from incarceration.
The purpose of this program is to address and alleviate barriers for justice involved individuals while returning from incarceration or recent sentencing.
LRC provides a range of services to help reduce recidivism and improve public safety. Key components of the program include:
- Employment Services: Guidance and resources to help individuals secure employment and develop career plans.
- Transportation: Assistance with transportation needs to facilitate access to job opportunities and other community resources.
- Education and Vocational Training: Resources to support education and vocational training to enhance employability.
- Housing Assistance: Support for finding stable housing and addressing housing related issues.
- Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment: Support for individuals dealing with substance/mental health issues, which can impact their ability to reintegrate into society.
- Personal Documentation: Help with obtaining necessary personal identification and other documentation for reentry.
