Community Impact Program

Community Impact Micro-Award Program FY 2026–2027

Cumberland County is pleased to announce the launch of the Community Impact Micro-Award Program FY 2026–2027, designed to provide short-term financial assistance to nonprofit organizations serving low-to-moderate income individuals within Cumberland County. Funds are administered by Cumberland County and provide up to $3,500 in reimbursement-based financial assistance to eligible nonprofit organizations in support of their broader mission.

This program aligns with N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160D-1311(a)(2) and supports initiatives that serve a defined public purpose.

Eligible Program Areas

Funding may support programs within the following categories:

  • Health and Human Services
    • Mental health support, substance abuse treatment, food assistance, homelessness prevention, domestic violence shelters, and other essential social services.
  • Religious and Faith-Based Services
    • Churches and faith-based organizations providing food distribution, emergency assistance, or other qualifying public purpose services.
  • Public Safety and Emergency Response Organizations
    • Volunteer fire departments, EMS organizations, and nonprofit disaster response entities supporting public safety and preparedness.
  • Educational and Youth Development
    • At-risk youth services, after-school programs, mentorship, vocational training, literacy initiatives, and other educational programs.
  • Arts, Culture, and Community Development
    • Organizations focused on preserving local arts and cultural heritage, economic revitalization, and community development initiatives.
