FAYETTEVILLE N.C. – The Cumberland County Public Library is proud to announce a series of dynamic coding and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programs tailored for people of all ages. The series, which runs from April through June, gives participants the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities designed to foster creativity, problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
Under the banner of “Coding @ Your Library,” these programs aim to make technology education accessible and empower community members to explore the exciting world of coding and STEM fields. Highlighted programs include:
- Become a YouTuber (adults and teens ages 15 and up). Develop the skills needed to create and customize your own YouTube Channel.
- Code Your Own Cartoons (Ages 8 and up). Learn coding techniques to bring animated stories to life.
- Composing with Code (Ages 11–18). Combine music and computer science concepts to ignite a passion for digital arts.
- Intro to Roblox Development (Ages 10 and up). Dive into the basics of game building in the immersive world of Roblox.
- Intro to Web Development (Adults & Teens ages 15 and up). Gain foundational understanding of HTML and CSS to build your own website.
- Junior Adventures in Game Design (Ages 5–7). Explore computer science fundamentals through coding mini games.
- Junior STEM Discoveries (Ages 5–7). Engage in hands-on STEM activities to spark curiosity and exploration.
- Operation: Code Breakers (Ages 10 and up). Learn the art of creating and solving coded messages using computer science principles.

The programs are made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-252476-OLS-22).
