FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County and area first responder agencies invite the public to join in paying tribute to firefighters, EMS personnel, and other emergency services heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the community. The 25th Annual Cumberland County Emergency Services Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Dr. Larry J. Keen Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) Regional Fire & Rescue Training Center, located at 775 Tom Starling Rd., Fayetteville.
This solemn ceremony will include a wreath-laying, roll call of fallen personnel, the traditional 5-5-5 bell ringing, and the playing of Taps.
Cumberland County Fire Commissioner Henry Tyson and City of Fayetteville Council Member Derrick Thompson will each read proclamations. City of Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin will deliver the keynote address.
