FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County Government, in partnership with the city of Fayetteville, Cumberland County Emergency Services, and other public safety agencies, invites the community to attend Fall Safety Day on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crown Coliseum West Parking Lot at 1960 Coliseum Drive.
This free family-friendly event is held in collaboration with the Holly Day Fair and supports National Fire Prevention Week, which ran from Oct. 5 — 11. This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” focusedon educating the public about the safe use, charging, and disposal of lithium-ion batteries, which are commonly found in phones, laptops, e-bikes and other everyday devices.
“Lithium-ion batteries are powerful and convenient, but they can pose serious fire risks if not handled properly,” said Cumberland County Fire Marshal Kevin Lowther. “This event is a great opportunity for families to learn how to stay safe while enjoying interactive demonstrations, safety exhibits, and hands-on activities.”
“Fall Safety Day is an awesome opportunity for our community to come together, learn and take proactive steps to protect their families,” said Fayetteville Fire Captain Stephen Shakeshaft. “We want everyone to leave this event not only having fun but also feeling more confident about preventing fires at home.”
Fall Safety Day will feature:
-
Live safety demonstrations from EMS, fire departments, and law enforcement
-
Fire truck and emergency vehicle displays
-
Giveaways and educational materials
-
Kid-friendly activities and safety games
-
Information booths from the Cumberland County Fire Marshal’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, Fire Chiefs’ Association, and more
