FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County government offices and the court system will close Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Closures include all Solid Waste landfills and container sites, Animal Services and all eight library branches.
Solid Waste
- Landfills and container sites will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, for regular operating hours.

Animal Services
- Animals Services will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, for regular operating hours.
- To report an after-hours animal emergency, please call Cumberland County Emergency Services at 910-323-1141 or 911.
Libraries
- All library branches will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, for regular operating hours.
