FAYETTEVILLE N.C.– All branches of the Cumberland County Public Library System will be closed on May 4 to discuss a new strategic plan for the library and conduct staff development training but will re-open on May 5 for normal business hours.

Library staff, customers and community stakeholders participated in a Community Needs Assessment as part of a strategic planning process in 2019 and 2020. The assessment’s results, along with other input, was used in developing the Cumberland County Library’s new strategic plan.

The strategic plan is a tangible plan to provide guidance to the library staff as they move forward into the future. The plan connects the Library’s goals to Cumberland County’s strategic goals of education, county employee recruitment and retention and government communication and awareness.
