FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County, in partnership with the City of Fayetteville and community partners, will open a White Flag Shelter and designated warming centers this week in response to expected below-freezing temperatures.
WARMING CENTERS (OPEN NOV. 28–29 ONLY)
Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) Lobby
- Open: Friday, Nov. 28 (Closed Thursday, Nov. 27) Regular operating hours are posted at fayettevillenc.gov/transit.
- Address: 505 Franklin St., Fayetteville
Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation Centers
The Salvation Army of the Sandhills
- Address: 220 E. Russell St., Fayetteville
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m.
When activated as a warming center, The Salvation Army will also offer:
- Lunch at 12 p.m.
- Dinner at 5 p.m.
WHITE FLAG SHELTER (OPEN NOV. 27, 28 & 29)
Cornerstone Christian Empowerment Center
- Address: 111 N. Bragg Blvd., Spring Lake
- Hours: 6 p.m.–8 a.m. (Intake 5:30–9 p.m.)
- Transportation: Shuttle service to and from the Fayetteville Cares Day Resource Center, 128 S. King St.
- Evening pick-up at 6 p.m.
- Morning return at 6:30 a.m.
- Meals: Dinner and breakfast provided.
