FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County, in partnership with the City of Fayetteville and community partners, will open a White Flag Shelter and designated warming centers in response to expected below-freezing temperatures.
The weather is forecast to meet criteria for White Flag on Tuesday, Dec. 2 and Thursday, Dec. 3. The weather is forecast to meet criteria for warming centers on Wednesday, Dec. 3 and Friday, Dec. 5. The following locations will be open:

Cornerstone Christian Empowerment Center

Hours: 6 p.m.– 8 a.m. (Intake 5:30 – 9 p.m.)

Transportation: Shuttle service to and from the Fayetteville Cares Day Resource Center, 128 S. King St.

Residents are encouraged to check on neighbors, older adults and individuals without reliable heat. Pets should also be brought indoors during freezing temperatures.
