FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Tax Administration reminds residents and non-residents who own taxable property in Cumberland County that the 2026 property listing period is Jan. 1 - 31, 2026.
Listing forms must be updated, signed and returned by Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. Forms postmarked after Feb. 2 will be considered late and incur a 10% late listing penalty.

Personal property
Active duty, non-resident military personnel may be exempt from taxation on personal property only. To claim this exemption, submit a current end-of-month LES (Leave and Earnings Statement) with the listing form.
Listing forms can be accessed and downloaded online at cumberlandcountync.gov/tax/personal-property or picked up in person at Cumberland County Tax Administration, located on the fifth floor of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse at 117 Dick St. in Fayetteville. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tax Administration, County government offices and the courthouse will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24 to Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, for Christmas and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day.
