FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County will open with a one-hour delay on Tuesday, Jan. 27, as winter weather impacts continue across the area.
While road conditions have improved, dangerously low temperatures remain, prompting County officials to continue sheltering and warming operations and to urge residents to use caution.
County Operations Update

Most Cumberland County facilities will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Cumberland County Public Libraries will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Sheltering and Warming Centers
Cumberland County, in partnership with the City of Fayetteville and community partners, will open White Flag shelters and designated warming centers in response to expected below-freezing temperatures.

Public Safety Reminders
Although road conditions have improved, extreme cold persists, creating continued risk for residents without adequate heat. County Emergency Services continues monitoring conditions and will provide updates as needed through official County communication channels.
