Fire Marshal’s Office Introduces Online Permit Applications

Jun 30, 2023

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Cumberland County Fire Marshal’s Office is excited to announce that starting July 10, 2023, fire permits will be available via online application.

The new Energov system will provide citizens and businesses with an easy, efficient and secure online platform to apply for a variety of permits. These include Compressed Gas, Fire Alarm, Fireworks/Explosives, Hazardous Material Install permits, Alcohol Law Enforcement (A.L.E.) inspections and more.

The transition to this digital platform was completed in collaboration with the Cumberland County Department of Innovation and Technology Services (ITS) and is expected to bring numerous benefits to the citizens of Cumberland County, including a simpler application process, a reduction in associated expenses and processing times, and a decrease in paper waste, contributing to environmental sustainability.

Energov will also allow applicants to track the status of their applications, making the process more transparent and predictable. As more people embrace online services, this move will allow the Fire Marshal's Office to remain relevant and customer-friendly.
