FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Board of Elections has extended the candidate filing period five business days for the Town of Linden Commissioner and Town of Stedman Commissioner. The Board of Elections voted unanimously at its regular meeting Tuesday, July 22, to extend the filing period due to a lack of enough candidates filing for the statutory seats. The filing period begins Wednesday, July 23, at 8 a.m. and ends Tuesday, July 29 at 5 p.m.
Candidates may file at the Board of Elections during regular hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Board of Elections office, located in the E. Newton Smith Center at 227 Fountainhead Lane, Suite 101, in Fayetteville.
The Fayetteville Primary election is Oct. 7, 2025. The municipal elections are Nov. 4, 2025.
