County to Launch Community Impact Micro Awards Available for Nonprofits March 2

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County is accepting applications for the Community Impact Micro Award Program beginning March 2 at 7:30 p.m. The Micro Award Program provides short-term financial assistance to nonprofit organizations, up to $3,500 per approved applicant, to assist in their broader mission is open for applications.

An informational webinar will be held March 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The webinar will provide information on the steps to register and log into the county’s new program portal, Euna Grants, along with a review of the application.

The Community Impact Micro Awards Program for FY 2026-2027 aligns with state laws governing community development programs and activities and is structured around five key nonprofit categories to ensure equitable distribution of funds.

  • Health and Human Services Nonprofits providing mental health support, substance abuse treatment, food assistance, homelessness prevention, domestic violence shelters, and other essential social services.
  • Religious and Faith-Based Services Churches, faith-based outreach programs, and religious nonprofits providing food distribution, emergency assistance, or other qualifying public purpose activities.
  • Public Safety and Emergency Response Organizations Volunteer fire departments, EMS organizations, and nonprofit disaster response entities supporting public safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Educational and Youth Development Services for at-risk youth, after-school programs, mentorship, vocational training, literacy initiatives and other educational support programs.
  • Arts, Culture, and Community Development Organizations preserving local arts and cultural heritage, supporting economic revitalization and leading community development initiatives.

This program provides up to $3,500 (per approved applicant) in financial assistance to help nonprofit organizations continue their work serving low-to-moderate income individuals. Funding is administered by Cumberland County and organizations must meet eligibility requirements to be considered for an award through the Community Impact Micro Award Program. To qualify, the organization must be operating within Cumberland County. Applications will be available online HERE following the webinar at 7:30 p.m. on March 2.

Certain organization types are ineligible to apply. For the purposes of this program, applicants may request reimbursement for programs that satisfy a “public purpose” as defined by N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160D-1311(a)(2). Click here to read the statute.
