FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Government is celebrating National County Government Month (NCGM) throughout April. The County joins others across the nation in recognizing the essential services counties provide to support healthy, safe and vibrant communities.
The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners encourages residents to learn more about county government and the many services it provides, as well as its role in implementing state and federal programs at the local level.
“The heart of good government is simple: show up for people,” said Board of Commissioners Chairman Kirk deViere. “This month, we celebrate the employees who do exactly that every single day. They serve our residents, they partner with our state and federal colleagues, and alongside our military community, they prove what Cumberland County has always known. Together, we are stronger.”
National County Government Month has been recognized each April since 1991 through the National Association of Counties (NACo) to raise awareness about the role of county government. Learn more at naco.org.
