FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners joins the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the community in honoring the life and service of Capt. Adam Bean, who died Friday, March 27, following an off-duty incident.
Capt. Bean served nearly two decades with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, dedicating his career to protecting and serving the residents of Cumberland County.
Chairman Kirk deViere released the following statement:
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Capt. Adam Bean, who dedicated nearly two decades of service to the people of Cumberland County. Capt. Bean served our neighbors, our families and our community with honor. His commitment to public safety will not be forgotten.
“On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we extend our sympathy and support to his family, friends and colleagues. We also recognize the impact this loss has on our entire public safety community. We are grateful for those who serve every day and stand with them as they navigate this tragedy.
“As this incident remains under investigation, we ask the community to keep all those affected in their thoughts and allow the appropriate authorities the space to complete their work.”
