May 17, 2022

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Emergency Services will provide information about hurricane and flood preparedness at Party in the Park Saturday, May 21 in Stedman. Fire prevention information will also be available.

From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. residents can talk with Emergency Services representatives about severe weather hazards and get flood information specific to their addresses. The 911 center staff will be on hand to educate residents about effective 911 calls.

Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30.

“Having a plan in place and knowing what to do before disaster strikes is the most important step you can take for you and your family,” said Cumberland County Emergency Planner Laura Smith. “Our goal is to help the citizens of Cumberland County have a plan and be better prepared for any disaster that may occur.”
